It happened once again this year, I was speaking with a buddy and he complained about his gas ice auger not working properly.  Last year it worked great, now it would run and then die as soon as any power was applied.  After speaking we decided the first course of action was to replace the old gas from last year with fresh gas from this year.  Lo and behold, the auger now runs like a champ.

There is nothing worse than getting out on the lake ready for a great day of ice fishing and finding that your ice auger won't work.  Do yourself a favor and make sure to replace the gas at least every year and more likely every 30 days to ensure your auger works as expected.

Have you had a similar experience with your ice auger?
